TESTING & DIAGNOSIS

Make and appointment with a health care professional for a blood test. This may be detected not long after exposure and can indicate potential acute infection. The test should be repeated two weeks later for confirmation.

TREATMENT

From a natural medicine perspective there is a lot we can do to support the immune system.

Herbal Medicine

Herbals such as Andrographis, Echinacea, Thyme, Elderberry and St. John’s Wort have anti-viral and immune modulating properties. Medicinal mushrooms are also seen to be beneficial. - I love using a combination depending on the individuals presentation. Liver supportive herbs are also indicated such as; St Mary’s Thistle, Schizandra, Dandilion Root, Burdock.

Nutritional Medicine

Check your vitamin D levels - this is very important for immune function and regulation.

Vitamin C, Zinc and N-acetylcysteine are all seen to be immune supportive.

Support Your Liver

Have your liver enzymes assessed as your liver helps you to detoxify any toxins in your body.

If your liver is struggling this may affect your healing time.

Diet & Lifestyle for Immune Healing

Eat a nutritious whole-food diet and avoid processed food.

Avoid strenuous exercise while the body is in recovery mode.

Drink at least 2lts of water daily - include lemon, 🍋 ginger and herbal teas.

Rest adequately - the body heals while we rest and sleep.

When working with my clients, I tailor treatments to their unique health status and any potential nutrient deficiencies contributing to their symptoms. Some respond best to homeopathics, while others benefit more from nutritional support or herbal medicine. There is no one size fits all.
